Who we are
Doodle Hunt is made by Banana Bolt, a small independent game studio in Israel ("we", "us"). The studio is owned by Daniel Nahman Levi (operating as Banana Bolt), 89 Derech Ramatayim, Hod HaSharon, Israel, who is responsible for the data described here (the "controller", or "database owner" under Israeli law). Contact: [email protected]. Our general Privacy Policy applies too and explains your rights, international transfers and security in more detail. עברית (Hebrew version)
Playing as a guest
You can play Quick Play without an account. Guests get a random name made by the game (you can change it), which other players in your match can see. Guests can join private lobbies only with a lobby code. Your settings, chosen mode, guest name and tutorial progress are saved only on your device.
BananaBolt ID (optional account)
A BananaBolt ID is our own account, shared by some Banana Bolt games. When you create one we store on our server at bananabolt.xyz:
- Your username (public) and your email address (private; used only to identify your account, to help you with it and to answer you; we do not send marketing email).
- Your password, only in a scrambled (hashed) form that cannot be turned back into the password.
- Sign-in sessions, so you stay signed in on your device.
- Game data: level, points, wins, games played, favourite map, friends and friend requests, paint coins, skins you own and wear, daily missions, how many reward ads you watched today, whether you have No Ads, and records of purchases (product and store receipt reference, used so a purchase cannot be used twice).
Online play
Matches run on Cloudflare's servers (Cloudflare Workers). During a match, your name, colour, skin, position, movements, guesses, emotes and score are sent to the other players in the match. This data is kept only in memory while the match runs and is not stored afterwards, except the results added to your BananaBolt ID stats (points, win, fast finds and similar). To keep games fair, the server watches movements during the match to detect players who only follow someone else instead of searching; such a player may be frozen for a few seconds. This check happens only in memory during the match and is not saved. When you are signed in, your friends can see whether you are online and can invite you to a lobby.
Leaderboard and profiles
Players with a BananaBolt ID appear on the public leaderboard in the game and on our website at bananabolt.xyz/doodlehunt/leaderboard. The leaderboard and your profile show your username, level, wins, games played and favourite map. Your email address is never shown.
Your drawings
You can buy the option to send your own drawing to the game. The drawing (an image you make in the game's drawing pad), its title and your username are sent to our server and checked by our team. If it is approved, it is shown in Doodle Hunt games all over the world and on our website at bananabolt.xyz/doodlehunt/drawings, with its title and your username. If it is rejected, it is not shown. Please do not draw personal information (such as your full name or address) or anything you do not have the right to share. If you delete your BananaBolt ID, your drawings are deleted too and stop appearing in the game. You keep the copyright in your drawing; you give us a licence to show it as described in our Terms. To report a drawing or a player, see Report content.
Ads
Unless you buy No Ads, the game shows ads: in the app through Google AdMob, and on the web through Google ad placements for games. Ads appear between matches, and you can choose to watch a reward ad in the shop to earn paint coins (up to 3 a day). Google may collect and use data such as your device's advertising ID, IP address and the approximate location it indicates, and how you interact with ads, to show, measure and personalise ads and to prevent fraud. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland the app asks for your consent first using Google's consent form. On iPhone, the app asks your permission before any tracking (App Tracking Transparency); if you say no, ads are not personalised with tracking data. When you watch a reward ad, your BananaBolt ID user number (not your name or email) is sent with Google's reward check so the coins reach the right account. Read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Purchases
Paint coin packs, No Ads and the drawing option are bought through Google Play on Android or the App Store on iPhone. We never see or store your payment card or bank details. The store sends the game a receipt, and our server checks it with Google or Apple and then adds the item to your BananaBolt ID. Purchases are not available on the web version; use the app.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use our own analytics or tracking.
- The game does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or precise location.
- There is no text chat between players; players communicate only with fixed emotes.

Why we use data (legal bases)
You do not have to give us any information by law, and you can play without giving us anything. We use data only for the purposes above. Running your BananaBolt ID, saving your game and running the leaderboard is needed to provide what you asked for (our agreement with you). Personalised ads rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the game's privacy choices or your device settings. Stopping abuse relies on our legitimate interest in keeping the game safe.
How long we keep data
We keep your BananaBolt ID data for as long as your account exists. Sign-in sessions expire on their own. Match data is gone when the match ends. Server backups are replaced regularly, so deleted data also disappears from backups within 7 days.
Children
Children play our games, so we are careful. We are adding an age question to the game; once it is in, players under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in their country) only get non-personalised, family-friendly ads, and we tell Google to treat them as children. Players under 13 may not create a BananaBolt ID or send drawings without a parent's consent. If you believe a child under 13 created a BananaBolt ID without a parent's consent, contact us and we will delete it. Parents can ask us to see or delete their child's data at any time: email us from the parent's address.
Your rights and deleting your data
You can delete your BananaBolt ID and all data linked to it at any time:
- In the game: open your profile and tap "Delete my BananaBolt ID".
- On the web: the Delete your BananaBolt ID page at bananabolt.xyz.
- By email: write to us from the account's email address and we will delete it within 30 days.
Deleting removes your account, stats, friends, coins, skins, missions and drawings. We keep only the store receipt reference of past purchases, no longer linked to you, so the same receipt cannot be used twice. Paid items are not refunded by deleting; refunds are handled by Google Play or Apple. You can also ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it. Guest data on your device is removed when you uninstall the game or clear the site's data in your browser.
To limit personalised ads, turn off tracking for the game on iPhone (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking), or reset or delete your advertising ID on Android (Settings → Google → Ads). For data collected by Google, use myaccount.google.com.
You can ask us to see the data we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it (Israeli Privacy Protection Law, sections 13-14; GDPR articles 15-21). We answer within 30 days, free of charge. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority (gov.il), or to your local data protection authority in the EU or UK.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the game handles data, we will update this page and its effective date.
